“ ” ” MISSION The Community Action Research Track (CART) offers medical students opportunities to promote healthier behaviors, address key health issues within communities, and engage in service-learning activities with the underserved. Dr. Steven Louis Bloom officially became the sixth Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology on September 1, 1983, after serving as acting and interim chair during the previous year.

Dr. Norman Ferrell Gant, Jr., became the fourth Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Dallas (as UT Southwestern was named then).

Dr. Paul C. MacDonald, Jr., officially became the third chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology September 1, 1970.
