When 2020 brought unprecedented challenges to the UT Southwestern community, our country, and the world, we rose to the challenge.

Three new facilities opened or broke ground to enhance care options for patients, including construction of The Texas Behavioral Health Center at UT Southwestern in December, addition of a new facility to treat cancer patients in November, and opening of UT Southwestern Medical Center at RedBird in August.

Despite a return to normalcy not happening in 2021, UT Southwestern’s faculty, staff, students, and trainees were unstoppable, embracing a new reality.

As the challenges of the pandemic continued into 2022, UT Southwestern became even more steadfast in efforts to engage, inform, and connect with the community.

Through the years, friends of UT Southwestern have been steadfast supporters contributing to the institution’s progress and growth. Outdoing themselves once again, our benefactors made significant gifts in 2022 – both large and small – to advance these efforts, including helping the Medical Center reach its $1 billion goal for brain research and care.

With the pandemic slowly subsiding in 2022, educational activities at UT Southwestern returned to the days when learners interacted in person for the most part – resuming a sense of community many had missed.
