Southwestern Medical Foundation

A philanthropic partner established in support of UT Southwestern Medical Center, Southwestern Medical Foundation, is a 501c3 charity.

In 1939, Southwestern Medical Foundation was created to rally citizens in support of the highest quality health care possible in the Southwestern U.S. In 1943, the Foundation started Southwestern Medical College, now UT Southwestern, behind its teaching hospital on the Old Parkland campus.

From the beginning, the Foundation helped to nurture a fledgling medical school into one of the preeminent medical research and academic centers in the world. Southwestern Medical Foundation’s support allows brilliant minds to achieve important breakthroughs. The Foundation is guided by trustees, donors and visionaries who are energized by the future and want to create a community bound by a common cause of innovation and achievement.

The Foundation currently manages more than 1,000 funds, creating a financial resource that supports advances in health care that will benefit people who need healing and restoration for years to come.
