Cars in parking lot with one empty parking spot

Parking registration for fiscal year 2020 opens Monday, July 29, and closes Saturday, Aug. 31. There are some convenient changes to the registration process for FY20, which begins Sept. 1.

New for FY20

Automatic permit renewal

With last year’s implementation of virtual permits, Parking Services has converted to auto-renewable permits for those who pay via payroll deduction. As of July 29, you no longer need to renew your parking permit every fiscal year, so no action is required on your part. Parking Services will send you a notification confirming the auto-renewal of your parking permit for FY20. You may cancel your parking if you no longer drive a vehicle to campus.

Currently not on payroll deduction? You may choose to convert to payroll deduction during registration to take advantage of auto-renewable permits in the future.

If your parking is currently paid via cash, check, credit or debit card, Parking Services will send you a notification that contains instructions on how and when to remit payment to renew your parking. If you do not remit payment, your parking will not be renewed.

Parking fees and rates

There is a nominal 2 percent increase in FY20 parking fees.

Clements University Hospital (CUH) garage and parking lots are only for employees who work at CUH, and employees will continue to park as designated at this time. Watch for new parking information when the first of two new CUH parking garages is complete this fall.

Department paid parking (IDR)

There is no change to IDR. Once the FY20 budget is received, you may submit IDRs to Parking Services via PeopleSoft. Please refer to the Administrative Resources webpage for details.

First time parking registration

If this will be the first time you register your vehicle, you can register online:

  1. Go to Parking Services
  2. Under “Manage Your Parking Account,” click on “Purchase Permits
  3. Enter your UT Southwestern ID and password (the same credentials used to access your UTSW email account)

If you are unable to register online, you may obtain a parking application from one of the Parking Services locations:

  • West Campus: Professional Office Building (POB 1), Second Floor, Suite HP2.201
  • South Campus: Visitors Information Center (A Building) located on the Seldin Plaza

For hours of operation, click here.

Once you register, a virtual permit number will be assigned to your parking account. You will receive a confirmation email that will contain your assigned permit number. A description of where you may park with your virtual permit type can be found here.

Want to make a change?

If you wish to change your parking level (garage, lot, faculty, etc.), please visit the Parking Services website to review your options.

Carpooling program

UT Southwestern offers a carpooling option with reduced costs for our employees and students. For locations and additional carpooling information, please visit the Parking Services website.

North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) TollTag

To provide a more convenient, alternate method of accessing parking garages and lots, North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) TollTag readers at the entrances of the parking facilities across campus will raise the gate arms if your TollTag is registered for parking on campus.

Already Have a TollTag?

To take advantage of this functionality, you must provide your NTTA TollTag number to Parking Services by completing the online FY20 TollTag Registration form. If you currently have more than one vehicle registered with Parking Services, please provide the TollTag number for your primary vehicle, as the system only supports one TollTag number per registrant.

Need a TollTag?

Parking Services is an authorized distributor of NTTA TollTags. Go to either of our Parking Services offices to sign-up and obtain a TollTag.

Participation in this program is voluntary. You may continue to use your employee badge with the existing reader, regardless of TollTag program participation.
