Coming soon: AI platform launch and what to expect

To the UT Southwestern Community:

As many of you are aware, UT Southwestern has been preparing to implement enterprise-level artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enhance our research, clinical, educational, and administrative operations. While we had originally targeted an earlier rollout, several key integration and governance considerations have required additional time to ensure that our AI solutions meet our institution’s high standards for data security, regulatory compliance, and responsible use.

To support a successful and secure implementation, we have rescheduled the introduction of our AI platform to Dec. 1, 2025. This revised timeline will allow us to:

  • Complete essential system integrations
  • Finalize institutional standards and guidance
  • Provide comprehensive training and resources to support safe and effective use across campus
  • Ensure appropriate processes are in place to allocate and manage user AI subscriptions across the enterprise.

In the coming weeks and months, we will host a series of AI Town Halls to share updates, demonstrate key features, and gather feedback from faculty, staff, and learners. We will also offer targeted training sessions tailored to research, clinical, and administrative users.

Additionally, we will unveil a new AI Resource Website, which will serve as the central hub for training materials, FAQ, and governance updates.

We remain committed to thoughtfully integrating AI tools in ways that strengthen our mission, enhance our work, and support meaningful innovation across the UTSW community.

Thank you for your continued engagement as we finalize this important initiative.
