Flags at half-staff in recognition of Patriot Day

State of Texas and United States flags should be lowered immediately to half-staff statewide in recognition of Patriot Day. Flags should remain at half-staff through Wednesday, Sept. 11 and should be returned to full-staff by sunrise on Thursday, Sept. 12.

President Trump's proclamation:

"On Patriot Day, we solemnly remember the nearly 3,000 people who perished on September 11, 2001. With gratitude, we honor the brave first responders, resolute members of our military, and ordinary Americans who showed extraordinary courage to save others on that fateful day. We will always be grateful for the heroic men and women of our Armed Forces who fought in defense of our country in the aftermath of the largest terrorist attack on American soil, and we will never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our liberty and freedom.

"NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim September 11, 2019, as Patriot Day. I call upon all departments, agencies, and instrumentalities of the United States to display the flag of the United States at half-staff on Patriot Day in honor of the individuals who lost their lives on September 11, 2001."
