Recreational flyers (drones) restricted on UT Southwestern main campus

Due to UT Southwestern's proximity to Dallas Love Field Airport, the Federal Aviation Administration severely restricts unmanned aircraft systems (i.e., drones) on the UTSW main campus.

Do not fly unmanned aircraft systems in airspace where flight is prohibited; this includes the entire UT Southwestern main campus. Find airspace restrictions on the FAA’s interactive map (all recreational flight is prohibited for any square marked with a zero). Operators are responsible for ensuring they comply with all airspace restrictions.

Generally, drone operators should avoid flying near airports as it is very difficult for other aircraft to see and avoid a drone while flying. Drone operators are responsible for any safety hazard their drone creates in an airport environment.
