Eligibility

To be eligible for the Tuition Assistance Program, a UT Southwestern employee must meet the following criteria before the course start date:

  • Work full time and be benefits-eligible (minimum 32 hours per week).
    Please note: Postdoctoral fellows or fellows/residents whose primary employment is not with UT Southwestern are not eligible.
  • Complete 12 months of total service with UTSW.
  • Finish any required probationary periods (e.g., employees who have been rehired have a six-month probationary period).
  • Remain in “good standing” (no disciplinary action received within the past 12 months).
  • Receive a Satisfactory Performance Evaluation (documented as “Meets Expectations” or higher).
    Please note: If Performance Evaluation shifts to “Needs Improvement” or “Unsatisfactory,” the employee will become ineligible.
