Faculty Affairs

Faculty Affairs partners with our Medical School departments and centers, the School of Health Professions, and the Peter O’Donnell Jr. School of Public Health in the management/execution of a variety of faculty transactions throughout a faculty member's lifecycle.

We provide guidance on and execution of a variety of academic processes that faculty may encounter. This requires synthesizing requested information and applying institutional and UT System policies where applicable.

We also serve as a bridge to improve communication among our schools to best meet the needs of the UT Southwestern community.

Our Services

We partner with Department Chairs, Center Directors, and Department Administrators in the following areas:

  • Letters of Intent for new faculty
  • Hiring process of new faculty
  • Faculty appointment contracts
  • Promotion and tenure process
  • Post-tenure process
  • Adjunct faculty appointments
  • Annual faculty evaluations
  • Data reporting to internal and external partners

Administrators should navigate to our Faculty Affairs SharePoint site in order to access our standard operating procedures, helpful resources, and up-to-date information.
