Faculty Research Day Highlights Innovation Across Radiology
UT Southwestern’s Radiology Department hosted its annual Faculty Research Day on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, bringing together faculty for a fast-moving program highlighting scientific discover currently underway across the department.
Since launching in 2020, the event has showcased 114 presentations by 62 faculty and guest speakers, demonstrating the remarkable depth and breadth of Radiology research.
The morning began with remarks from Martin G. Pomper, M.D., Ph.D., followed by three themed sessions.
The New Technologies session, moderated by Basak Dogan, M.D., included presentations by Jaewon Yang, Ph.D.; Sashi Debnath, Ph.D.; Li Liu, Ph.D.; Bhavya Shah, M.D.; and Kuan Zhang, Ph.D.
The Quantitative Imaging session was moderated by Orhan K. Öz, M.D., Ph.D., and featured David Fetzer, M.D.; Caroline de Gracia Lux, Ph.D.; Liqiang Ren, Ph.D.; Quyen Do, Ph.D.; and Wojciech Lesniak, Ph.D.
The final session, Clinical Research and Quality Assurance, was moderated by Jessica H. Porembka, M.D. and included talks from Avneesh Chhabra, M.D., M.B.A.; Steven Rowe, M.D., Ph.D., Yin Xi, Ph.D.; Oganes Ashikyan, M.D.; and Flavio Duarte Silva, M.D., Ph.D.
Once again, the symposium drew strong participation, with 70 to 90 attendees engaged throughout the day.
