The Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery Residency Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center recruits five PGY-1 categorical positions each year.
Our program participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), approved by the Association of Academic Departments of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Applicants must register with NRMP and the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). We will follow the Recruitment Season Recommendations as stated by the Otolaryngology Program Directors Organization.
Selection Process
The Resident Selection Committee uses a holistic approach to carefully assess each candidate's academic achievement, clinical performance, research experience, and personal attributes.
Offers and Scheduling
Interview Offers – Candidates selected to interview will be notified via Thalamus/E-mail.
- Offer Notification Date: November 6th, 2025
- Applicants placed on the waitlist will also be notified on November 6th.
Scheduling Interviews
Interview slots will open on November 10th at 11:00am CST. All dates are on a first-come first-serve basis.

Interview Day
Interviews are conducted in-person at our Academic offices located at UTSW West Campus Building 3. The day typically begins at 7am, and concludes around 3pm.
Applicants will interview with our Chairman, Program Director, and various faculty members spanning across a number of Otolaryngology Sub-Specialties.
Breaks are included throughout the day, plus our residents are present in between interviews to answer any questions you may have.
At the end of the day, our residents take the applicants on a tour of our campus and to highlight our great city of Dallas!
