Gynecologic Oncology Education
The Division of Gynecologic Oncology helps train the next generation of providers who will treat women with gynecologic cancers. We are active in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows.
Medical Students
We are committed to the teaching and mentorship of all medical students, with several medical students performing research projects with us and shadowing us during care.
We also work with medical students through:
- Involvement in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI)
- Mentorship with presentations at national societies, manuscript writing, and publications
- Teaching in gynecologic oncology clinics and the inpatient service
- Exposure to gynecologic oncology surgery and fundamental surgical techniques
Residents
Our faculty actively participate in the training of residents in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program. Similar to our interaction with medical students, we help through teaching and mentorship. Our interaction with residents is at a more advanced level, such as teaching them how to perform hysterectomies, radical pelvic surgeries, and advanced minimally invasive techniques.

Fellows
Our Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship Program prioritizes comprehensive patient care – training in advanced surgical techniques and the medical management of all gynecologic cancers – and multidisciplinary collaboration with experts in other specialties.
