Education
The Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology is dedicated to educating the next generation of Ob/Gyns. We work with medical students, residents, and fellows at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Health facilities.
Medical Students

We teach medical students about the full scope of caring for women and meeting their needs from the first menstrual period to the last and everything in between, through lectures, daily rounds, and real-time interactions in the Ob/Gyn emergency room, operating rooms, and the labor and delivery unit. We also offer shadowing at our clinical sites.
Medical students are taught about patient care and surgical techniques, and they learn about the practice of Ob/Gyn in the real world - in Texas and beyond.
Residents

The Division helps with the training of Ob/Gyn residents during their rotations at Clements University Hospital, both in obstetrics and in gynecologic surgery.
At Parkland, our faculty work side by side with the residents from day one, teaching them the basics as well as the intricacies of women's health care - from recognizing the normal to correcting the abnormal in everything from labor to menopause. Residents learn surgical techniques in both obstetrics and gynecology as well.
Fellows
Our team interacts with the fellows in their service to our practice by covering back-up calls and gynecologic emergencies.
