The North Texas Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (NT-ADRC) Outreach, Recruitment, and Engagement (ORE) Core is committed to bringing brain health education and preventive health resources directly into the communities we serve.
Through partnerships with local organizations, community centers, faith-based groups, businesses, health fairs, and special events, our team connects with individuals and families to increase awareness of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD) while promoting healthy aging and early detection.
At our community outreach events, we offer free Mini-Cog cognitive screenings and blood pressure screenings in collaboration with our community partners. Participants also receive educational materials on brain health, AD/ADRD, healthy lifestyle habits, research opportunities, caregiver resources, and available community services.
These events create meaningful opportunities for conversations about memory concerns, risk reduction, and the importance of participating in research, while helping individuals connect with healthcare and support resources. Our goal is to make brain health education accessible, build trust within the community, and empower individuals to take an active role in maintaining their cognitive health.
