Nicolaides Named Assistant Dean for Clinical UME

Rory Nicolaides, M.D., an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Internal Medicine in the Division of Allergy and Immunology, has been appointed Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education, a role that will allow her to provide strategic leadership for the clinical phase of the medical school curriculum. She will work with all components of the medical school, clerkship directors, faculty, learners, and staff to further strengthen the quality, consistency, and impact of students’ clinical training experiences.

“Dr. Nicolaides has distinguished herself as an innovative and highly effective educational leader,” said Sherry Huang, M.D., Vice Provost and Senior Associate Dean for Education. “Her vision, collaborative leadership, and unwavering commitment to learners will continue to advance clinical medical education at UT Southwestern.”

Dr. Nicolaides holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of North Florida, which she received magna cum laude. She earned her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine and completed her residency training in pediatrics, followed by fellowship training in adult and pediatric allergy and immunology at UT Southwestern.

Since joining the UT Southwestern faculty in 2020, she has held multiple educational roles, including Associate Pediatrics Clerkship Director, Course Director of the Pediatrics Track of Residency Essentials, Course Director of the Pediatrics Sub-Internship, and Director of Pediatric Medical Student Education. ■
