Interventional Pulmonology Fellowship

UT Southwestern's Interventional Pulmonology Fellowship is a one-year, ACGME-accredited program designed to provide fellows with extensive procedural experience, multidisciplinary collaboration, and opportunities for scholarly activity. Trainees can develop proficiency in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, preparing them for independent practice in the field of interventional pulmonology.

Our mission is to provide clinical, educational, and scholarly experiences that will equip our graduates with the skills necessary to make lifelong contributions in education, research, and clinical practice within Interventional Pulmonology and beyond. We aim to accomplish our mission by:

  1. Providing multi-site clinical, procedural and educational experiences in interventional pulmonology with a focus on procedural indications, techniques and post-procedure management.
  2. Providing scholarly experience tailored to the IP Fellow's career choices including practice setting and scope of practice.
  3. Preparing graduates to successfully attain board certification in interventional pulmonology and to thereafter continue a practice of lifelong learning and improvement with ongoing contributions in the field of interventional pulmonology and the patients they serve.
  4. Preparing graduates to assume leadership roles in clinical practice, resarch projects and educational endeavors. The goal of each training setting is to develop an understanding of the skills necessary for the diagnostic evaluation and therapeutic management of IP patients and disorders in a multitude of settings.
