Registry and Biorepository for the Study of Intestinal Immune Disorders

Established in 2011, this ongoing study has recruited nearly 2,000 patients and collected close to 12,000 samples to facilitate translational discoveries. Led initially by Dr. Burstein, and currently led by Dr. Fudman, the Registry and Biorepository is available to assist investigators at UT Southwestern and beyond who have a suitable scientific question. Please contact the IDD Center if you have an interest in having access to these resources.

Models of Inflammatory Digestive Diseases

Our investigators examine immune responses in gastrointestinal organs, including the intestinal mucosa and the liver. Thus, members of the IDD Center have expertise in a variety of animal models of intestinal inflammation including multiple colitis models, colitis-associated neoplasia, gastrointestinal infection, liver inflammation, fibrosis, and cancer. Additionally, members of the Center utilize intestinal organoid cultures (colonic and small intestinal, human and murine) to examine epithelial intrinsic cellular properties and their response to disease and tissue injury. If you want to be connected with an expert in a particular model, please let us know.

Future Resources

The IDD Center is in the process of organizing additional resources based on common needs for its investigators, including light microscopy advanced imaging, genomics and bioinformatics, and biochemical and structural resources.
