Message from the Center Director

For more than five decades, the Harry S. Moss Heart Center has advanced cardiovascular care through a singular commitment to patients, discovery, and education. Founded in 1973, the Center was built on the idea that meaningful progress comes from integrating rigorous science with compassionate, evidence-based clinical care. That philosophy continues to guide our work today.
At UT Southwestern, we bring together clinicians and scientists who are dedicated to understanding the causes of heart disease, improving diagnosis and treatment, and translating discoveries into better outcomes for the patients we serve. Our teams collaborate across disciplines to address the full spectrum of cardiovascular conditions, from common disorders to the most complex and rare diseases. This collaborative approach allows us to move new insights from the laboratory to the bedside with purpose and precision.
The generosity of the Moss Heart Trust has enabled us to recruit and support exceptional faculty whose work has shaped cardiovascular medicine at a national and international level. Just as important, it has strengthened our ability to train the next generation of physicians and investigators. We remain focused on fostering an environment where curiosity, innovation, and clinical excellence thrive together in service of improving cardiovascular health.
