Meet Our Team

The Dermatology Clinical Research Unit is a dedicated team within the Department of Dermatology at UT Southwestern Medical Center, focused on the effective management and execution of clinical research across a wide range of dermatological conditions. The unit is now under the leadership of Dr. Alice Bendix Gottlieb, MD, PhD, who joined as Director of Clinical Research. Dr. Gottlieb brings extensive experience in clinical research leadership, with expertise in dermatology, rheumatology, and internal medicine. In this role, she oversees and advances the department’s clinical research infrastructure, supports both investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored studies, and facilitates multidisciplinary collaboration.

The department conducts diverse research, including Phase 1–4 interventional trials, observational studies, registries, and federally funded projects. The department features dedicated clinical research space with two exam rooms and a team of experienced professionals: a Supervisor of Clinical Research, two full-time Coordinators, a Regulatory Associate, and a part-time Coordinator.
