Women’s Health Research Initiative

Mission

The mission of the UT Southwestern Women’s Health Research Initiative is to bring together multidisciplinary teams of investigators to foster collaboration and develop research projects centering women’s well-being, with consideration of population-specific needs, in order to increase our understanding of women’s health, enhance education and research support, and improve the lives of women.

Vision

UT Southwestern’s long-standing strengths in basic research, recent investments in clinical and translational research, and challenges in women’s health directly relevant to our patient population underlie the rationale for developing a robust and data-driven Women’s Health Research Initiative. This initiative will lead to discoveries relevant to the developmental origins of disease and capitalize on UT Southwestern’s excellence in research related to epigenetics, developmental biology, nutrition, and metabolism.
