The Whole Brain Microscopy Facility (WBMF) is particularly well-positioned to drive discoveries in neurological and psychiatric conditions as well as brain injury. Using various advanced 2D and 3D microscopy modalities, researchers can evaluate neuropathology across the micro-, meso-, and macro-scales, tracing neuronal projections from injured sites to long-range targets. These approaches make possible critical investigations into how neuronal connections are altered following injury or disease - studies that were previously unfeasible with traditional microscopy techniques.
The Neuro-Models Facility (NMF) advances research into nervous system function and supports the development of innovative therapeutic strategies for neurological and psychiatric disorders. By offering shared resources and expertise beyond the scope of most individual laboratories, NMF enables investigators to pursue high-impact, translational research. The NMF offers specialized expertise in stereotactic surgery and production of brain injury models such as stroke and TBI, as well as resources for sensorimotor behavior testing and in vivo electrophysiological recording (EEG, EMG).
