  • Curated List of Distinguished Awards
    Browse a comprehensive list of awards, organized by name or nomination deadline. Each entry includes a concise description of nomination criteria, estimated deadlines, and direct links to official award websites for detailed information.
  • Nomination Process Guidance
    Access information for nomination types, identifying awards that are Limited (restricted submission opportunities coordinated through the Provost’s Office), or Open (an unrestricted opportunity, allowing any qualified individual to nominate a candidate without a limit on numbers of nominees from UT Southwestern per cycle).
  • Nominee Suggestions
    Submit your suggestions for potential nominees to the Provost’s Office and indicate if you are willing to assist in preparing nomination materials. 
  • Searchable Resources
    Search for awards by keyword or submission deadline to find the opportunities that best match your interests. 

Suggesting a Nominee

The Provost’s Office invites suggestions for nominees for distinguished awards it regularly submits. To suggest a UT Southwestern faculty member, please use the “Suggest a Nominee” link and provide the following information (* indicates required fields). Whenever possible, please submit suggestions at least three months prior to the official deadline.

  • Your Name*
  • Name(s) of Suggested UTSW Faculty*
  • 50-Word Summary of the Scientific Discovery*
  • Description of the Discovery (up to 500 words)*
  • Additional Comments
  • Co-Nomination: Indicate if a non-UTSW scientist should be co-nominated.
  • Recognition of Contributors: Specify if other scientists should be acknowledged.
  • Assistance with Nomination Materials: Indicate if you’re willing to help prepare nomination materials.

Foundation Grant Opportunities

    A centralized table of funding opportunities, sorted by funding type and deadline, provides direct links to each grant’s website. This resource enables faculty to identify funding aligned with their research focus, plan strategically, and maximize available funding options
  • Opportunity Type and Submission
    Limited Submission Grants: An internal competition, coordinated by the Provost’s Office, is required to select UT Southwestern nominees for limited submission opportunities. Interested candidates should submit pre-application materials via the “Submit Pre-Application” link on this site by the specified deadline. Selected nominees will collaborate with the Office of Development or Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA) to prepare the full application.

    Open Submission Grants: No pre-application is required for grants with open submissions. Applicants should work directly with the Office of Development or Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA) to prepare the full application. Adhering to the internal deadline is critical to secure the necessary institutional signature.
