Your gift. Your cause. Your impact.

At UT Southwestern, giving back isn’t just something we do – it’s who we are. One of the ways we do this is through the State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC). This giving initiative empowers you to support causes close to your heart – from local groups to global humanitarian missions. Every participating organization is carefully vetted, ensuring your donation will create real and lasting impact.

Why give through the SECC?

  • Choice: Support what matters most to you. With hundreds of charities to choose from, you can be sure your donation goes exactly where you want it to.
  • Convenience: Whether you choose an ongoing payroll deduction or a one-time gift, giving is simple.
  • Impact: Your contribution, no matter the amount, can help improve lives across Texas, throughout the country, and around the world.

Ways to give

During the campaign, UT Southwestern employees can make donations in several ways, including ongoing deductions from paychecks beginning in January 2026 or a single gift. Contributions can be designated for any of the charities listed in the SECC's Directory of Charities. Donations are tax deductible and remain completely confidential.

Via PeopleSoft (payroll deduction)

  1. Log in to PeopleSoft.
  2. From the Employee Self Service page, click on the Payroll tile.
  3. Select Make Charity Contribution in the left menu.

At in-person events on campus

There will be several in-person SECC events happening across campus and at select locations where you can get help making your donation, enjoy treats, and collect some swag.

Use a paper form, check, or cash

Paper forms, checks, and cash donations must be submitted in person to the UT Southwestern Cash Management office in Trinity Towers at 2777 N. Stemmons Freeway, Third Floor, Room 3.230H, Dallas (Tuesday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.). Checks should be made payable to DFW SECC (not UT Southwestern). Do not submit via interoffice mail or U.S. Postal Service.

Organize a department-level fundraising activity

In past years, departments have hosted bake sales, chili cook-offs, pumpkin decorating contests, and pop-up coffee shops, as well as handed out candygrams (e.g., “boograms” for Halloween) to raise funds.
