The Skinny

Welcome to the new Dermatology newsletter! Congratulations to Dr. Renee McKay and Laura Jacobo who both suggested the name during a department wide “name the newsletter” contest. We think it “rocks”!

According to The Online Slang Dictionary, the definition of skinny is “very good, excellent, cool.” Back in the 1980s (yes, I’m that old), someone might say, “Hey, what’s the skinny?” It related more to information, predating the “411” reference. Both I think are great reasons for our name. The Skinny will be your place to come for excellent, cool information about what’s happening in Dermatology.

Spring is a time for hope and possibilities, planting the seeds for new ideas and innovations.  It’s a perfect time for reopening the campus and introducing these new webpages dedicated to celebrating our staff, highlighting events and activities, and recognizing accomplishments.
