How to Apply

Our Thoracic Fellowship program begins on August 1st of each year and our trainees graduate on July 31st of each year.

Our next interview season will begin in January 2024. 

All applicants must apply through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). All applicants must then submit a complete application through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service) that includes:

  • Personal Statement
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Three letters of recommendation from faculty members (one of those must be their general surgery program director)
  • USMLE board scores
  • American Board of Surgery in-training (ABSITE) exams (all years)
  • Medical school transcript in its original language, as well as in English (copied and notarized, stating that it is a true copy of the original)
  • ECFMG certificate (copied and notarized; approximately four to six weeks for processing)

All applicants must be enrolled in or have completed an ACGME accredited General Surgery training program to be considered. Additionally, an international applicant must have a J-1 visa to be considered.
