Assistant Professor Donald Kasitinon, M.D. (UT Southwestern PM&R Residency Class of 2020 and UT Southwestern Medical School Class of 2016), recently became an Official Lead Team Doctor for the Dallas Mavericks! With this achievement, Dr. Kasitinon is one of only a few PM&R physicians working as an official team doctor in the NBA.

Dr. Kasitinon played NCAA tennis at UT Dallas and is currently in his endurance sports era, dominating the Hyrox scene. He completed his sports medicine fellowship at Stanford before coming back to UT Southwestern as an attending. Since his return, he has established himself as one of the preeminent nonoperative sports medicine physicians in Dallas-Fort Worth.

In addition to working with the Mavs, he currently serves as the Head Primary Care Sports Medicine Team Physician for Dallas Trinity FC, Head Team Physician for the UT Arlington Movin’ Mavs and Lady Movin’ Mavs, and a team physician for Dallas Baptist University. He also heads the annual UTSW Adaptive Sports Expo.

Dr. Kasitinon loves basketball and grew up as a Mavs Fan for Life (MFFL), so getting to work with the Mavs and being able to bring his son, Miles, as his assistant is an extra special accomplishment. We are so proud of Dr. Kasitinon as he represents UTSW and our specialty on a national level. Go Mavs!
