AAPM&R 2025 Salt Lake City was one for the books! UT Southwestern made our presence known by winning awards, enriching our fellow PM&R community members through presentations, and running the Foundation for PM&R 5K.

Surendra Barshikar, M.D., was the major headliner of the event as he was honored with one of the PM&R Awareness and Value Awards. Multiple faculty gave presentations, including:

The residents (and recent alumni) were represented by Alia Hemeida '25, who presented at a scientific session, while Lindsey Kim ‘26 and Ryan Floresca ‘28 presented posters.

The Foundation for PM&R 5K team included:

  • Alia Hemeida '25
  • Lindsey Kim '26
  • Ryan Floresca '28
  • Amanda Seemann '26 (with her husband, Hayden Pike, pinch-running for her)

In addition, AAPM&R festivities featured the UTSW Alumni Reception for a much-enjoyed reunion of current faculty, trainees, and our fabulous alumni. Special shoutout to Zach Meyer '23 for also organizing a Creighton University School of Medicine Alumni reunion. We look forward to seeing everyone in sunny Puerto Rico for AAP!
