Watson Jr., M.D. Award for Excellence in Clinical Medicine, which is UT Southwestern’s highest honor in clinical care. The UT Southwestern Health System’s Celebration of Excellence will highlight examples of innovation and improvement throughout our hospitals and clinics across five categories: People, Safety, Quality, Service, and Financial Stewardship. Open to the entire campus, this year's event will feature a keynote speech by Harry S. Hertz, Ph.D., FAAAS, HFACHE, Director Emeritus, Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, National Institute of Standards and Technology. Dr. Hertz has been with the National Institute of Standards and Technology since 1973, originally as a research chemist and, later in a series of management positions including Director of the Chemical Science and Technology Laboratory. He served as the Director of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program from 1995-2013. He now serves as the Program’s Director Emeritus, in a consulting capacity.
