At the Peter O’Donnell Jr. School of Public Health, our Department of Health Economics, Systems, & Policy (HESP) prepares the next generation of public health leaders to tackle some of society’s most urgent challenges. From analyzing how policies shape access to care, to modeling the economics of health systems, our students and faculty are united by a common goal: to create healthier, more equitable communities.

The Master of Science in Clinical Investigation program includes courses on research training, financial planning, leadership, and career development.

Welcome to SBS at the Peter O’Donnell Jr. School of Public Health, our Department of Social & Behavioral Sciences (SBS) explores the human, social, and cultural dimensions of health. We focus on how environments, communities, and behaviors influence well-being — and how to design interventions that drive lasting change.

Margaret Phillips, Ph.D., Chair and Professor of Biochemistry, has been selected to receive the Herbert Tabor Research Award from the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB). The Society’s highest honor, the Tabor Award recognizes outstanding, innovative accomplishments in biological chemistry and molecular biology as well as contributions to the scientific community.
