Welcome to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society Gamma Chapter at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Alpha Omega Alpha, commonly referred to as AOA, is the only national honor medical society. Its mission, developed over the past one hundred years, has been to recognize and enhance professionalism, academic excellence, service, and leadership within the profession.

The Professional Standards and Performance Committee was created to focus attention on medical professionalism within our community, both on the individual level and on the collective behavior of our faculty. Its ultimate goals are to promote excellence in the clinical care of our patients and to encourage provider behaviors that will improve the quality of our service and the patient experience.

The Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) is a national honor society that was established in 2002 at the request of medical educators and residency program directors. These educators sought to not only identify learners who exemplify patient-centered care, but also develop a community of likeminded individuals who inspired and sustained humanism among healthcare professionals.
