L. Joseph Su, Ph.D., M.P.H., a nutritional epidemiologist who researches links between diet and contaminants in food to cancer and health, and Yang Xie, Ph.D., an expert in the field of data science, have been appointed Associate Deans at UT Southwestern.

Neuropathologist Dennis Burns, M.D., who played a key role in reshaping the first major reorganization of the UT Southwestern Medical School curriculum in its history, has been appointed Professor Emeritus of Pathology.

Heakyung Kim, M.D., a physician-investigator known for research and treatment of cerebral palsy in children, has been appointed Professor and Chair of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). Five early career physician-researchers are the first awardees to receive support from the UT Southwestern Fund to Retain Clinical Scientists (UT-FOCUS) program.
