https://events.utsouthwestern.edu/event/cell-biology-seminar-series-844
Dr. Randal Kaufman from Sanford Burnham Prebys will be visiting UT Southwestern for a special seminar. His lab focuses on unraveling the fundamental mechanisms that govern protein folding and the cellular responses to the accumulation of unfolded or misfolded proteins within the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). By exploring the intricate processes of ER stress and protein quality control, Dr. Kaufman’s research has broad implications for understanding diseases related to protein misfolding, such as neurodegenerative disorders and diabetes. During his seminar, Dr. Kaufman will share his latest findings and discuss the impact of this critical area of cell biology.
