Women's Health Research Initiative Seminar Series "Progress in Women’s Health Research: A Personalized Perspective" Dr. Florence Haseltine is an advocate for women's health and the study of sex differences. She received her Ph.D. from MIT and her M.D. from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, subsequently completing her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania and Boston Hospital for Women (now part of Brigham and Women's Hospital). Dr. Haseltine held the position of Associate Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Pediatrics at Yale University before assuming the role of Director of the Center for Population Research at NICHD. In 1990, Dr. Haseltine made a significant impact on the field by founding the Society for the Advancement of Women’s Health Research (SWHR). Early detection is key when it comes for breast cancer, and annual screenings are recommended for all women beginning at age 40. To help remove common barriers to screening, the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center's mobile mammography unit will be on campus Wednesday, June 10, and Friday June 12, offering 3D screening mammograms to all faculty, staff, and learners.
