"Evolution of Incretins: Magic Bullet or Hot Air" Speaker: David D'Alessio, M.D. Professor of Medicine & Chief Division of Endocrinology & Metabolism Lindquist Presidential Distinguished Chair Duke University About David D'Alessio: Dr. D'Alessio earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin and completed internal medicine residency training at Temple University School of Medicine. He then received advanced trainining through a fellowship in metabolism, endocrinology, and nutrition at the University of Washington. An internationally recognized endocrinologist, Dr. D'Alessio has significantly advanced the understanding of metabolic regulation and incretin biology. His research centers on how gut-derived hormones, particularly GLP-1 and GIP, regulate glucose tolerance and insulin secretion, with a focus on their therapeutic implications for type 2 diabetes.
