This week’s training session will introduce the SLURM (Simple Linux Utility for Resource Management) job scheduler, the system used to manage jobs on BioHPC. The session will cover: • Fundamentals of the job scheduler and how it decides where and when your jobs run. • How to interact with SLURM to check job status and monitor resource usage. • Writing SLURM job scripts to maximize throughput for different scenarios, including sequential, parallel, GPU, and MPI distributed tasks. CryoEM Data Transfer and Real Time Processing Speaker: Hung Le, Ph.D. The CryoEM services at UTSW collect large amounts of data daily that must be efficiently moved to large-scale storage. BioHPC has developed a protocol to transfer such data from the campus to our filesystem in real time, enabling users to perform on-the-fly processing and prevent local storage overload.
