This week’s training session will introduce the SLURM (Simple Linux Utility for Resource Management) job scheduler, the system used to manage jobs on BioHPC. The session will cover: Fundamentals of the job scheduler and how it decides where and when your jobs run.How to interact with SLURM to check job status and monitor resource usage.Writing SLURM job scripts to maximize throughput for different scenarios, including sequential, parallel, GPU, and MPI distributed tasks.This training is highly recommended for BioHPC users who submit jobs from the command line and have not previously attended a SLURM session., powered by Localist, the Community Event Platform

Currently thriving as a Research Assistant I at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, Meghana spends her days in the lab crafting innovative nanoparticles – like PLGA, magnetic, liposomes, and pH-sensitive systems – for targeted cancer drug delivery and imaging. Her hands-on expertise shines through in vitro and in vivo work while mastering advanced tools including DLS, UV-Vis, HPLC, NMR, UPLC-MS and co-authoring impactful papers while being passionate, collaborative, and driven by real-world impact! "Updates in Hormone Therapy" Speaker: Tara DuVal, M.D. Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine Division of Geriatric Medicine UT Southwestern Medical Center About Tara DuVal: A native of New York, Dr. DuVal received her undergraduate degree in neurobiology and behavior at Cornell University. She earned her medical degree at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland, and completed internal medicine residency training at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, where she then served as a hospitalist for two years. She obtained advanced training through a clinical fellowship in geriatric medicine at UT Southwestern.
