Join us for a free community health screening event at the Shops at RedBird on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This pop-up screening is designed to make preventive health accessible, convenient, and free for everyone in the community without needing to make any appointments, just walk in. Participants can receive three key screenings at no cost: HbA1c testing for diabetes risk, a lipid profile to assess cardiovascular health, and a urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR) test for early detection of kidney disease. These screenings offer a quick, evidence-based snapshot of metabolic and organ health, empowering participants with actionable information about their well-being. In addition to screenings, attendees are invited to complete a brief Community Needs Assessment Survey. "Improving Pancreas Cancer Patient Access to Molecular Profiling Through Technology Development and Uniform Testing Strategies" Speaker: Ryne Ramaker, M.D., Ph.D. Clinical Fellow Division of Hematology & Oncology Duke University About Ryne Ramaker: Dr. Ramaker completed his MD and PhD through a joint program with the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Medical Scientist Training Program and the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology. During his graduate training, Dr. Ramaker worked closely with the Encyclopedia of DNA Elements consortium to develop high-throughput methods for characterizing gene regulatory networks that drive cell type specific expression programs, with a focus on gastrointestinal cell types. His thesis, “Transcriptional Changes Underpinning Poor Prognosis And Chemoresistance In Pancreatic Cancer,” examined how pancreatic cancer cells alter gene expression to acquire multidrug resistance.
