Come celebrate the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and honor the contributions, experiences, and strengths of our community on Wednesday, July 8. The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a light lunch reception featuring desserts catered by Bitty and Beau’s Coffee, an organization dedicated to employing and empowering individuals with disabilities. Heakyung Kim, M.D., Chair and Professor for the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at UT Southwestern, will deliver the keynote at noon, followed by a panel discussion on caring for patients with disabilities. Hosted by the Office for Institutional Opportunity, this event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on South Campus in D1.502 and livestreamed on UTSW’s YouTube channel for those unable to attend in person. The event will kick off with a historical overview presented by Dr. Craig Malloy, highlighting the center’s journey and impact over the past two decades. Day 1 will feature a keynote presentation from Dr. Dean Sherry, reflecting on his contributions and vision in the field.
