Overview
The Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) has enjoyed tremendous successes and growth since its creation in 1997.
Commonly referred to as urogynecology, female pelvic medicine is the subspecialty of obstetrics and gynecology that treats women with pelvic floor disorders such as urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, voiding dysfunction, fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, urinary tract infections, and interstitial cystitis.
Mission
Our Division’s mission is:
- To deliver excellent, compassionate, state-of-the-art care for women suffering from pelvic floor disorders
- To provide excellent training for medical students, residents, and fellows; to serve as a prominent referral resource for physicians and women suffering from urogynecological problems in the North Texas area
- To advance knowledge in female pelvic floor disorders through creative and innovative research projects
