UT Southwestern’s commitment to raising awareness of the dangers of sexual misconduct includes offering ongoing education through annual campus-wide training on Title IX and UT Southwestern’s policies that protect against sexual discrimination and foster a safe, inclusive, and healthy campus environment.

A course for UT Southwestern employees and students
A training program for faculty and staff that provides a general introduction to Clery Act requirements
An interactive training program for faculty and staff that trains employees on how to identify and respond to different types of sexual misconduct and discrimination committed against students and employees, as required under Title IX.
Interactive training program for faculty and staff that includes scenarios and examples you may face around sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and sexual harassment. This program will provide you and your colleagues with important skills and resources to help foster a safe, inclusive, and healthy campus environment .
Interactive training refresher for faculty and staff. Concentrating learner engagement around the practical application of content from the original Bridges course, this course seeks to codify prescriptive behaviors related to recognizing, responding to, and reporting sexual misconduct. This refresher will equip you and your colleagues about important skills and resources to help foster a safe, inclusive, and healthy campus environment.
All Title IX Coordinators, Deputy Coordinators, investigators, and those with authority over sexual misconduct investigations and proceedings receive appropriate training about offenses, investigative procedures, due process, and applicable UT Southwestern policies, procedures, and resources.

Facilitated In-Person or Virtual Trainings
Title IX 101: Back to Basics
This workshop is a comprehensive overview of policies that include Title IX, Texas Education Code 51.252 (also known as SB 212), and UT Southwestern's sexual harassment and sexual misconduct policies (ETH-153 & ETH-154). We will discuss these UT Southwestern policy, mandatory reporting duties for employees, intervention and support strategies, and resources and support available for Title IX related incidents. We will utilize scenario-based learning to apply workshop content to real world situations. This workshop can be tailored to fit the needs of a variety of audiences including students, employees, and student employees upon request.

Understanding your Reporting Obligations under Title IX and State Law
This training provides critical information regarding what employees with reporting obligations need to know about their duty to report sexual misconduct incidents they learn about during the course and scope of their employment. The training will include an overview of UT Southwestern's sexual harassment and sexual misconduct policies (ETH-153 & ETH-154); Responsible Employees' mandatory reporting obligations; definitions of Title IX sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking. We will also provide helpful scenarios that illustrate the nuances of reporting and ample opportunity to ask questions or clarify concerns.

Resources and Support available for the UT Southwestern Community
This workshop explores the institutional requirement to provide support and resources to those who may have experienced an incident that implicates UT Southwestern's sexual harassment and sexual misconduct policies (ETH-153 & ETH-154). This educational workshop will take a deep dive into the various resources and support that are available to members of the UT Southwestern community, including both on campus and off campus resources. We will also discuss UT Southwestern's legal obligation to provide support and accommodations to affected individuals as well as provide best practices on how to navigate disclosure conversations with empathy and understanding.

Consensual Relationships: Demystifying how to report and properly document a relationship at UT Southwestern.
This training discusses UT Southwestern's Consensual Relationships policy (ETH-111). We will cover how to properly disclose and document consensual relationships between UT Southwestern employees and describe relationships that may violate UT Southwestern's sexual harassment and sexual misconduct policies (ETH-153 & ETH-154). We will also discuss best practices for navigating the unique challenges of a consensual relationship between UT Southwestern employees.

Title IX Implications in a Healthcare Environment
Preventing Harassment and Sexual Misconduct is critical to the successful operations of a hospital or clinic. All employees, but especially supervisors and leaders have a role in cultivating and maintaining a workplace culture that is free of all harassment and discrimination. After attending this training, medical faculty and staff will be equipped with the information and skills needed to promote intervention, empathy, and allyship for those who may experience inappropriate sexual conduct from a patient, colleague, or visitor. This course also includes easy to follow tips for maintaining a workplace where all employees can thrive.
