Alumni
UT Southwestern is an ideal training ground for residents and fellows. Half of our resident graduates who practice in academic settings either remain or return to UT Southwestern for faculty positions after post-graduate training. Numerous residency and fellow alumni are current UTSW faculty, including the residency program directors. We also have recent UTSW neurology residency and fellowship graduates on faculty at other top academic institutions.
A number of neurology training graduates are now our colleagues in private practice in the DFW area. We enjoy keeping in touch with one another and working together to take care of patients. Some are volunteer faculty for the Department and assist with neurology resident clinical exams, give lectures for our trainees, or occasionally host residents for outpatient rotations. Every year at the annual AAN conference, the Department hosts an Alumni Reception for Neurology resident, fellow, and faculty alumni. This is traditionally held on Tuesday evening at a local establishment near the conference center.
