Aspiring Leaders Program application window opens May 1

Aspiring Leaders is a 12-month program available to select UTSW employees who aspire to be leaders but are not currently in a supervisory role with direct reports.

Apply for the 2023 cohort May 1 through July 15.

About Aspiring Leaders

  • The eligibility requirements include two years of employment at UTSW by Aug. 31, 2023, and a “Meets Expectations” or above on your most recent performance appraisal.
  • The prerequisite for the program is completion of the DISC Profile Class (virtual training) by the July 15 deadline. Sign up for a DISC Profile Class in Taleo Learn.
  • The consideration process is competitive and requires an application from the employee and a recommendation from the employee’s manager. View the candidate application and manager recommendation form on the Aspiring Leaders website beginning May 1.

The course curriculum includes monthly leadership sessions, a capstone project, development assessments, and one-on-one mentoring

About the DISC Profile Class

DISC is a three-hour, instructor-led virtual webinar that aims to help you understand your personal behavior style and see the value in different styles in the workplace. To get started, participants will take the DISC online personal assessment to identify your unique personality profile. Then during class, participants will learn how to enhance communication, trust, and teamwork based off their results.

  • Select one of the dates listed below and sign in to Taleo Learn.
  • In the “Enrollment Information” window, select the “Enroll” icon located in the top and bottom right-hand corner.
  • A confirmation message will load at the top of the pop-up once completed.
