Sneak a peek at the new Center Times Plus, and more, as Phase 2 of MyUTSW upgrade preps for launch

In June, UT Southwestern rolled out the first round of changes to MyUTSW, the campus intranet. And as promised then, we’re just days away from unveiling an exciting Phase 2. And you’re going to see a big difference.

A hallmark of the new upgrade is a new and expanded platform for the digital version of Center Times – the print newspaper you’re used to seeing in racks across campus.

Beginning next week, Center Times will have a robust online companion, which we’re calling Center Times Plus. The new website will enhance the ways we tell the story of UT Southwestern, and how we showcase the people who make it all happen.

Each issue of Center Times weaves together the three parts of UT Southwestern’s mission – education, research, and patient care – and you’ll see dedicated sections for all of those categories in Center Times Plus.

There’s another piece of the campus community that we want to reflect on the website: YOU. In employee-centric feature stories, photo galleries and more, expect to see you and your co-workers more fully woven into the story of UT Southwestern.

One place you’ll find those elements is in section called “Life@UTSW” – which pairs with the Thursday e-newsletter that Communications sends to your mailbox each Thursday.

Center Times Plus is just a part of a multi-phased project to enhance our digital platforms and better connect the UT Southwestern community.

The publication will be showcased on the homepage of MyUTSW – which receives its final redesign as part of the multi-phased project to enhance our digital platforms and better connect the UT Southwestern community.

With the newly designed intranet, you’ll still have access to the content you’re used to on the MyUTSW homepage – such as quick-access buttons to PeopleSoft, the policy library, and quick links to other popular content.

But the new site features some exciting enhancements we want to tell you about before the launch in the coming week.

In addition to providing a showcase for Center Times Plus, the MyUTSW enhancements will:

  • Provide a clean, modern, well-organized and user-friendly design
  • Make the site more mobile-friendly and consistent with other UTSW websites
  • Create a more engaging user experience by expanding the capability for photo galleries, animations, and other creative elements
  • Enable selection of news and information based on your interest, whether it’s research, patient care, education, campus life, and more

Here’s a sneak peek of the updated design:

You’ll get to see the live site soon, and we’ll provide you with some more details about how to navigate the site as we get closer. In the meantime, if you have questions, email web@utsouthwestern.edu.
