Health Watch -- Manage Your Health: Health Watch
Health Watch is a Public Service of the Office of News and Publications and is intended to provide general information only and should not replace the advice of a medical professional. You should contact your physician if you have questions about any of these topics.
This week on Health Watch, we've been talking about ways that you can work with your doctor to help manage your own health. Information is the key. You need to keep track of information about your health and provide this information to doctors who treat you. You also need to make sure your doctor is giving you the information you need to make informed decisions. The media and the Internet may provide a lot of health information, but it's most helpful when you use it to ask your doctor questions.
Health Watch fits into this mix. We don't intend for Health Watch to replace a doctor's care. Instead, it may give you a starting point for a conversation with your doctor. If you listen to Health Watch on the radio, you can find copies of the scripts online by visiting www.utsouthwestern.edu.
Health Watch is heard Monday through Friday nationwide on ABC Satellite Radio. Call your local radio station and ask if they carry the program.
