An important first step to make is clearing your cupboards. It can be hard to change your eating habits when you have tempting goodies lying around. Lona Sandon, a registered dietitian at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, suggests getting sealed foods like sausages and cheeses from gift baskets or boxes of candy out of the house by donating them to a food bank, where they’ll be doing good for the community. If you still have opened treat packages or homemade sweets left over from the holidays, bring them to work to share so you won’t be tempted to eat them all yourself. Just be sure that you don’t overindulge when other people bring their post-holiday treats!
