Position: Tenure-Track / Tenured Positions in Molecular and Cell Biology (pnj111013)

The Department of Molecular and Cell Biology

As part of a multi-year faculty hiring initiative to grow the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology at The University of Texas at Dallas, the Department invites applications for tenure-track positions in emerging areas of biological sciences. We have two immediate openings for individuals who can contribute to one or several areas of strength in the department: (i) chemical biology and biophysics, (ii) eukaryotic cell biology (including imaging), (iii) microbiology, (iv) neurobiology and (v) systems and computational biology. Successful candidates are expected to establish and maintain a vigorous, independent, externally-funded research program, and contribute excellence in undergraduate and graduate education. Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent degree and relevant post-doctoral experience. Preference will be given to currently funded investigators and to those whose research has immediate potential for funding. A generous start-up package and excellent research facilities are available.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison has predoctoral and postdoctoral (PhD, MD) training positions in the following research focus areas: Aging; Cell Signaling, Growth and Development; Fat Soluble Vitamins; Metabolism and Metabolic Disease; and Minerals. Trainees in this program receive a broad spectrum of research and classroom experience in molecular and applied aspects of nutrition that will allow them to pursue a career in nutrition-related biomedical research.

Position: Biostatistician

Education: Master’s or PhD Degree in Biostatistics or related field
Location: Dallas, Texas (in-House)
Position Description:

  • This position is responsible for conducting bio-statistical reviews of manuscripts submitted for consideration to be published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The journal biostatistician reviews medical manuscripts for study design, statistical analysis, statistical techniques as they pertain to biomedical research (both clinical and basic science) and be able to apply that knowledge to evaluate manuscripts.
  • Reviewing abstracts/tables of all submitted original articles, experimental studies and special topics manuscripts, while providing an initial assessment whether a manuscript’s statistics look valid.
  • This position is a permanent placement position in the Dallas, Texas area.
