Pediatric Endocrinology

The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology at UT Southwestern Medical Center is committed to improving the health of infants, children, and adolescents by providing quality clinical services, furthering the understanding of endocrinologic disease through original research, and participating in the education of physicians at all levels of training.

The Division’s 17 faculty members and 5 fellows maintain varied interests in clinical and translational research, as well as basic science. Many advanced practice nurses, nurses, dieticians, medical assistants, social workers, and research coordinators provide valuable support. U.S. News and World Report ranked our Division No. 21 nationwide in 2022.

Our Division provides all endocrinology services at Children's Health, where we have a full-service outpatient facility offering state-of-the-art diagnosis, treatment, and management of endocrine disorders. We serve a diverse population of children ranging from birth to 18 years of age residing in North Central Texas and the surrounding regions.

Research in the Division covers a variety of single- and multi-center projects. Our faculty work in both basic and clinical research, often collaborating with labs in other departments and institutions.

Faculty

Pediatric endocrinology faculty share a strong commitment to physician education and training. Our postgraduate fellowship program accepts two fellows per year. Also, pediatric residents and medical students take an active role in the care of hospitalized patients with diabetes and endocrine diseases.

Fellowships

The Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship Program accepted its first extramural fellow in 1999 and has grown to accept two fellows per year. Approximately half of our fellows come from our department's Pediatric Residency Program, and in turn approximately half of our faculty are graduates of our fellowship program.
