Parking at UT Southwestern and Southwestern Medical District

UT Southwestern Medical Center provides valet and self-parking options for most clinical buildings on campus; other lots are designated for general campus visitor parking. Parking facilities are also available near affiliated hospitals in the Southwestern Medical District. Areas shaded yellow on the Campus Map are designated for visitor parking.

Rates for UT Southwestern-operated campus parking areas vary but do not exceed $10. Patients should note the location of their physician’s office or diagnostic center in advance to determine the best parking option. Other campus visitors may wish to get specific parking instructions from their campus host. Rates for other Medical District facilities are listed below.

Valet Parking

Valet parking is available for a nominal fee at the main entrances of the buildings listed below. Hours and rates are posted at the valet stations in front of each building. Validation from a clinic is required to receive the patient rate.

Parking Fees (UTSW)

Patients and visitors pay $10 for daily access with clinic validation. If self-parking is not available, the valet rate will be $5. Visitors may also purchase a book of five valet coupons for $35 at any UTSW valet station, which will lower the valet cost to $7 per transaction. Vendors pay $25 for single-day access.

Self-Parking Locations

Patients and visitors to UT Southwestern may self-park in any parking area shaded yellow on the Campus Map. Rates for UT Southwestern-operated visitor self-parking lots and garages vary, but do not exceed $5. Parking at the Tower Garage, operated by Parkland Hospital, costs $5.

Several parking garages are controlled by “Park & Pay Stations,” which are electronic vending machines located on the main floor of the garage. Visitors must keep the parking ticket with them to pay as they leave the building. The parking ticket is fed into the machine, the rate is displayed, and payment is made by voucher, cash, or debit/credit card. The machine returns the paid parking ticket, which must then be inserted at the exit gate for the arm to lift.
