Paid Leave
Holidays
There are paid holidays each fiscal year. Full-time employees also accrue two hours of floating holiday each month.
Vacation
New full-time employees accrue eight hours per month of vacation time, which may be used after six months of employment.
Sick Leave
Sick Leave is accrued at a rate of eight hours per month for full time employees. There is no waiting period for use of sick leave and no maximum allowed accrual.
Prior State Service
Employees of UT Southwestern are eligible to receive credit for prior State of Texas employment. Once an employee's length of prior state service has been confirmed, the employee may qualify for higher vacation accruals and longevity pay, if employed on a full-time basis.
