Medical Malpractice Requirements
Students enrolled at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School are required to be covered by The University of Texas System Malpractice Plan.
The required coverage is:
$25,000 per claim
$75,000 per aggregate
$75,000 per participant
Students are covered while doing courses off campus as long as they are doing the course for credit and the course has been approved by the corresponding faculty on our campus and by the Association for Student Affairs. If your coverage does not meet the above requirements, additional malpractice insurance can be purchased upon your arrival at UTSW for 25.00 per rotation.
